My name is Steve (aka Drum_n_Aries). I was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah and moved to Florida in 2006. I have been in the Tampa area for 6 years. I am a passionate musician with over 30 years’ of experience. I am versatile in multiple genres and instruments (drumset, percussion, piano, guitar, and vocals). However, my main instrument today is the drumset. Although I was a trained Jazz drummer, my focus for the past 10 years has been Rock, Hard Rock, Alternative, and Metal. I am a quick learner and known to be able to adapt to different genres. I started playing piano at the age of seven and transitioned to percussion at the age of twelve. I played percussion iall throughout High School and my first year at the University of Utah. Since then, I have played in a local (Orlando) rock band, church band, and community band. Over the last 20 years, my priority has been raising my 5 children and ensuring that they are set up for success in their lives. I am a full-time Executive for a small Healthtech company in the Tampa area. I work remote which allows me more flexibility. I am now at a point in my life where I have more time to focus on playing out in live venues and working on creating more new music in my studio. In January 2021, I signed up for a subscription with Drumeo (Musora). I have enjoyed using the Drumeo platform. I am addicted to constantly learning how to be better. In November 2021, I finally decided to make the investment on a new Tama Superstar Classic 7 piece drum set. I purchased new cymbals (Meinl), audio equipment (Audix, Samson, Focusrite) and software (ProTools). I had been playing on the same Premier kit since 1993. That same November in 2021, I decided to post drum covers on my YouTube channel (drum_n_aries). I didn’t get a lot of views but I didn’t care. I was more proud of the fact that I got over my anxiety to share my creations. After getting frustrated with being told what I can and cannot post due to copywriting (even though I specified that they were covers), I decided to create my own music in BandLab and play live drums to it.
